Helping you relax - repair - recharge

Wynyard Fitness offers a range of aqua classes including cardio, wellness and hydrotherapy. Aquatic therapy is a very safe and beneficial form of exercise. As well as a number of cardiovascular and respiratory benefits, aquatic therapy also helps to:

  • increase and maintain muscular flexibility;
  • improve mobility and range of motion;
  • increase muscular strength; and
  • improve coordination, balance and postural alignment.

Other benefits include:

  • a high calorie consumption;
  • a massaging effect on your muscles;
  • the ability to train during very cold weather, (using an indoor heated pool);
  • a great supplement or alternative to regular training;
  • is usually pleasurable and very relaxing; and

AQUA DEEP – A non-impact class conducted in deep water, using a range of water aids and exercises. Participants are suspended in water using buoyancy belts for support and flotation. Deep Water Aqua is suitable for all fitness levels. You can choose to workout at a fast pace or be more conservative. Deep Water Aqua is a whole body workout that improves cardiovascular fitness, core stability, burns calories and provides strength/resistance training to improve muscle tone and definition. Highly suitable for pregnant women or injury recovery. Because of its non-weight bearing nature this class is most suitable for pregnant women looking to tone up those abs ready for the big event.

AQUA FIT – A high energy and fun aqua fitness class focusing on variety for participants. Aqua Fit incorporates aerobic moves and use of various water aids which aims to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength training and toning.  Great music, circuits, aerobic routines and high energy moves make this class fun for all.

AQUA JIVE – One of our favourite and most loved class! This class is a fun high energy dance based water class. Dance to the beat of the music in the water! Enjoy the fun of dancing with little or no impact on your joints in an exciting and invigorating aqua dancing class!This class is easy to follow, and the instructor will offer modifications to meet your specific exercise goals, so the class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. If you enjoying moving to the music and burning calories at the same time, this class is for you!

AQUA LITE A great class for those affected by arthritis, people with back injuries  or those who have had joint replacement surgery. Relax sore muscles, develop greater joint mobility and build up strength.

AQUA TONE  – A  medium impact class that combines cardiovascular and resistance exercise. The use of all water levels, equipment, circuits and fun add to the variety of this class. Sculpt your body by alternating between upper and lower-body workouts, along with abs, back, waist and glute sections. It is medium impact and suitable for all ages and levels.

AQUA BOOT- Aqua Boot is a high intensity water class designed for the participant that really wants to push themselves or love a good challenge. Experience everything from short sharp bursts of plyometrics to endurance exercises that raise the heart rate. It’s great for cardio, muscle strengthening, core stability, and improving posture. It’ll help you get fit, lose weight and tone up.

AQUA PILATES - Aqua Pilates is ideal for anyone limited by injuries, aching joints, pregnancy, arthritis or immobility. The water's gentle resistant environment will have you working your core harder without even noticing; it's more difficult to recruit other muscles that would help you cheat on dry land. Aqua Pilates is conducted to relaxing music, whilst improving you inner core muscles and joint/muscle flexibility.

  • Single class - C  $13.00, A $15
  • Multi10 passes -  C $104, A - $120  (valid for 3mths) or the cheapest alternative is membership, where for as little as $16.00 you can participate in two classes per week.
